I haven't been writing much because...

... I've been dieting.

Man, I hate that four-letter word! It's just that Winter Sloth caught up with me, and I really needed to ditch that guy and do some spring cleaning, so to speak. Shed some baggage! So, it's been hard to do the 91 Cookbook entries when I'm not cooking incredibly appetizing meals.

Never fear! I'll probably be back on board with sharing from my cookbooks soon (in the next week or two, methinks). In the meantime, there's an abundance of things I want to write about anyway (besides just food). Granted, food is one of my favorite subjects, but life can't be "All Food All the Time!', right? Frankly, I needed a foodie break!

I'm also gearing up to write a bunch this month. Ya know, I used to wait for inspiration when blogging or writing. It worked, some of the time. I really don't do it that way anymore, as my schedule is often too crazy to really dish deep with my muse. Instead, I'm trying to adopt a great method taught to me by one of my closest friends and allies (and a darned fine writer himself), Richard Wright.

His method?

Ass in chair.

Yup. That simple. SIT DOWN. Open the notebook. And start writing. So, that's what I'm doing now. Muse be damned. I'm leaving without you, if you aren't done packing.

During the month of April, I'm planning to write SOMETHING every single day, save one. (April 10th. And that's ONLY because I'm photographing two weddings spanning from 9am to 11pm that day and there will be no extra room for breathing or wiping, let alone thinking/writing.)

Expect to see more blogs this month, just because my ass will be in the chair and this place is a great place to warm up.

And for those who are wondering, I'm working on a cookbook of recipes from European kitchens, as well as occasionally writing content for a book of humorous essays.
