Meeting Giada Delaurentiis

Last week, the Costco warehouse in my little town of Issaquah was promoting Giada's new cookbook "Giada At Home". I decided to get Rick's mom and go down there. We bought the new book, which looks even better than the old one (especially the "Nonni's Rice" recipe! WOW!) and we got to meet her and say "hello" while she signed our books. There were lots of Italian ladies in line to meet her.

Unlike a lot of others on the Food Network, Giada is an actual chef who studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, as well as worked at several reknowned restaurants in the United States, including Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago. She's even worked as a food stylist! This woman knows her food!

Thanks for the great new recipes, Giada!

  2. OMG, I am so mad I didn't know she was coming here!!!! She is my absolute favorite. I do have two signed cookbooks from her, but I ordered them from her site. Grrrr. Looks like you had fun!

  3. and some food people say that the story about her background was made up by the Food Network... and lots of people work to write recipes for her... I don't know... But there's no arguing, she is pretty and the cookbooks are gorgeous.
