I always get comments at work about how people have to know what I'm eating and it always looks interesting - vegan food IS interesting - and mine is healthy too. Love bean spread!

Reading your thoughts on food and the written word made me feel as though I were reading my own thoughts! I couldn't agree with you more, Jackie! In my opinion, whether it's the simplest dish or an elaborate meal, food should be a feast for the senses ~ all of them! This is what I strive to achieve with everything I prepare and photograph, and I thoroughly enjoy the entire process. As for cookbooks, I have hundreds yet never have enough! I use many of them for inspiration and the sheer enjoyment of reading and browsing through the mouth-watering images! All this being said, it will be a pleasure to follow your blog with your lovely prose and food photography, Jackie!

Im totally cracking up at 'Taking photos of your meal is the new duck-face snapshot.' Much like using instagram doesn't make you a photographer. Although, I do take duck-face pictures of me food… so shoot me. Along w/ the 2011 trends, add 'food in a jar' to that list. Again, myself included, made anything and everything and tossed it in a jar, somehow!

I agree and love the lists. My mother just made fresh butter the 2 days ago, so she'll be excited to know that she's a trend setter! As for Goat, Indian/Pakistani restaurants may feature a Goat Meat or Mutton curry... which is very very tasty.

Nice lists! I am the only person I know who eats goat. It seems like people think of them as pets! I have heard that beets are becoming a trend - I think they deserve more love. I agree that hunting will start making a come back as a DYI food trend rather than a sport. I am planning on learning to shoot and then graduating to bird hunting. Maybe we will hunt together some day!
